Prisoners' Education Trust Celebration Project celebrates the achievements of the learners at
with HMP Parc. Launched in March of 2021 this animation project wanted to look at the struggles and hurdles that the learners face while studying Distance Learning in prison to improve their life chances.
This 2 minute animation aims to show that achieving qualifications within the prison reigeme can be difficult and challenging, making the achievements of the learners even more impressive.
Erika was delighted to be commissioned to do this animation, a chance to introduce her skills into the criminal Justice sector to covey messages that in the traditional way would be difficult considering that cameras are not allowed in prisons and faces cannot be shown for confidentiality reasons.
The animation took Erika 3 months to do from conception and storyboards through to completing all the animation and addiing it to amazing soundtrack by Paul Keirle who works in the prison with the learners. It was done in Adobe Animate using a Wacom tablet, drawing over a rough pencil guide of the animation that had been scanned in and timed to provide a framework from which to work from.
